Roe v Wade

Through the Unexpected is greatly concerned by and strongly opposes the recent decision of the US Supreme Court to overturn Roe v Wade. We recognise that the impacts of this decision are felt beyond the US, particularly for several of our Board Directors who have lived experience of terminating pregnancies for medical reasons.

Access to safe abortion saves lives, and we must be vigilant in protecting our collective rights to healthcare.

Through the Unexpected is committed to supporting pregnant people and their families, regardless of the outcome of their pregnancy. We recognise that this is an issue of health justice, and are committed to advocating for the rights of all pregnant people to choose how their pregnancies progress, including the right to terminate a pregnancy for medical or non-medical and personal reasons.
